I don´t know how far but it took 13hours

Posted on 11th February, 2012

I am here in Puerto Natales and arrived at gone 7pm having left Ushuaia at 6.15am this morning. Long day and it started out at 5degC but did eventually warm up and the sun came out as we blasted the ripio to Povenir (?sp) having very narrowly avoided ploughing into two walking and very rare steaks; these two cows decided to play chicken with Sir Humphrey, I skidded and managed only to hit the second one´s tail. If they had written off the bike they both would have been eaten in principal but as it was everyone lived.

An unexpected pleasure followed -  a two hour boat ride to Puerto Arenas with nothing to do but sit, write by diary, work on a tan and read my book. It was a AMAZING. Two hours of total peaceful pleasure.

Rest of the day was just a blast to get here before it was too late. Tomorrow´s plan is to monster the national parc Torres del Pines before heading north to El Calafate and the Moreno Glacier.

As usual I am having memory card problems in this net cafe but will try again later tonight. This lack of pictures does suck and I apologise.

TTFN,

Tigger
