Ahoyhoy peeps,

How is Blighty (question mark). no question mark key on this ´puter alas.

Anyway after recovering my breath at the house of Anmar and her family I was asked if I would do an interview for a friend of Anmar´s at the local paper. Of course I said giving it no thought at all, happy to do anything they asked of me considering their amazing hospitality to a near total stranger. Alas this meant back into biking gear and ride into town with Sir Humphrey not to return for a few hours. Not what I needed recovery wise but nothing I wasn´t happy to do for such great people. I was able to breathe again after all so I had no excuse. Anmar is a law graduate but she doesn´t appear at all posessed by Satan. Maybe its just British and American laywers (question mark). We had a great lunch of curried chicken with Anmar´s fiancee Dennis and her brother Noel.

I followed Luis, Amarilis (Luis´ wife) and Anmar in their pickup truck into town to the paper´s offices.

A quick photoshoot for the paper was followed by an quick interview and just as I thought we were leaving to return to the calm and restful atmosphere of the homestead it was up to the roof for more photos.

This must be it I thought as we were escorted downstairs but out, into the boardroom for an interview with the newspapers glossy Sunday magazine journalist who was very professional, spoke excellent English and had a camera man with a huge lens. We chatted for a while and I cribbed more recommendations about the Gran Savana. they love the ´proposing in the airport´ story here. After this I assumed it would be another photoshoot in the carpark but we were soon off and I guessed to home but again I was off the mark as we pulled up outside a zoological park which, after a few photos the guard was persuaded to open just for us. Amarilis hoped on top of the tent on Sir Humphrey´s pillion seat and we pootled in to the amazing view of a series of waterfalls. WOW! And opened just for us!

So a lot of photos were shot with the best backdrop of any so far (no offence Paul Franks).

At last it was all over and time to head back to the house. I had earlier offered Anmar a ride (on Sir Humphrey only!) not thinking about helmets as one generally doesn´t in South America so for the first time every I cruised down a dual carriageway lidless. It is great!

We arrived safely home without sustaining a subdural haematoma where I again ran through my blog´s pictures. Machu Pichu definately wins the sign of wanting to see it award amongst people here. Then was the finest hotdog dinner I´ve ever had with a plethora of people I think were friends and girlfriends etc etc.

Now Anmar is playing karyoke and I am fading fast needing bobo ASAP but not before Luis pours me some sweet but quite nice peach and apple boozey stuff and Amarilis finishes off my laundry for me. I could live like this being passed from hospitible friend to hospitible friend.

Gran Savana becons tomorrow (all say it is absolutely amazing and I will not want to leave) and I am confident breathing will not be a major problem.

TTFN,

Hi Chris, what a wonderful, generous bunch of people you have met (even doing your laundry, WOW!!!). Must make the journey much more enjoyable, putting the frustrating bits into perspective. Shame the welder doesn't do ribs though !! Hope the pain eases off soon. Look after yourself, and do try to stay upright from now on, no more injuries please!!

Hi Tigger - It is 0845 am here. Still confused by the positions given out be the GPS spot positions. You seem to be having a ball 'churlish to refuse' springs to mind. Enjoy - George
